Update!

Since I last posted we've had another showing on the house and a little more information come our way on a contract for Keith. The contract sounds promising but is in the "waiting for funding" stage. There is not an estimated time on when this may or may not happen so we are still in the incredibly monotonous waiting stage. However, I am thankful for this little bit of news. I still believe, wholeheartedly, that God is still orchestrating things and I need to be patient.

As far as the showings, we've had no offers yet. It's all been positive feedback but that's about all. As Keith says, "We just need to wait and see how things play out".

Picking up...

We had two showings on the house this week. One showing on Thursday and one on Friday. We haven't heard any feedback yet. This could mean one of two things: either the buyers are not interested in the house or the Real Estate Agent is slow in getting back to us. We'll keep you updated!

We're still here...

I've been hearing the comment a lot lately, "You are still here?". Yes, we are still in NH waiting to hear about a contract in Maryland. Fortunately, we have not received any offers on our house yet. There are days when I feel anxious about all of this and then there are days when I can totally rest in knowing that God is in control and is orchestrating everything. Today, I'm feeling 50/50.

Maryland Update

First of all, we would like to say a big "Thank You" to everyone who showed their sympathy during our time of loss of our cat, Bandit. We love you all!

So, the house has been on the market now for almost 3 1/2 weeks. The last 2 weeks we did not have one showing. According to our Realtor, things slow down because of weddings and graduations this time of year. Things should pick up a little after the 4th of July and then the next surge will most likely be August/September.

However, yesterday, I received a phone call at 10:15am saying someone would like to come see the house between 11:30am and 12:30pm. Well, I was almost to the grocery store with the kids and had not picked up the house before we left. So, we scrambled home and the kids did a fantastic job helping me tidy up the house for the showing. We received feedback last night that they liked the house, felt it was priced right but the wife wants a formal dining room. The husband still wants to keep our house on his list. I guess it's just a matter of seeing who wins out.

We're still waiting to hear about a contract for Keith in Maryland so we would appreciate it if you could continue to keep that in your prayers.

That's all for now!

A Tough Day!

[asset|aid=2|format=image|formatter=asset|title=Bandit in a Box|width=450|height=285|resizable=true|align=center]

I have some sad news. We had to have our cat, Bandit put down today. The diagnosis was either heart failure or cancer. To even do the MRI would have caused to much stress on him and he would most likely have not survived it. So, we felt it was more humane to put him out of his misery.

The kids are quite upset but that is to be expected. This is really the first time they've had to deal with losing something/someone close to them. They're planning on drawing pictures later as a tribute to him. It's funny, he wasn't a cat they could cuddle with or even pat but there was still a bond.

So, we ask for your prayers as we grieve the loss of Bandit.

So I was wrong...

Well, so much for not being busy or having much activity. It's Sunday morning and we will be getting ready for church in just a little while as well as getting ready for our 4th showing on the house. It's been on the market one week from yesterday. Yeah, kind of crazy! So, I guess there is something to be said for using PVRM (Prudential Value Range Marketing). Instead of placing a fixed selling price on our home, the Realtor advertises that we, the sellers, will entertain offers from - and then they give a range of prices. Our range is $244,900 to $284,876. I was skeptical at first but I feel it is helping to get people to at least come out and take a look.

We have not had any feedback yet so I'm not sure if we'll need to make more changes. I'm getting anxious to hear what people are saying and if they are saying things that we can change or if this is going to be a long process because people are looking for a different style home. I'll keep you posted!

Our First Showing!

We had our first showing today. The people were suppose to arrive at 11:30am so we were quite surprised to see a minivan pull up at 11:05am. We scurried to get out of the house and give them "space" to look around. When we came back home we found the sign-in book actually signed by the Realtor with the comment "Too Small". So, I guess there will be more showings.

This is actually a good thing. We found out last night that it could be months before Keith gets a contract so if it takes a few months to sell the house, that's ok.

So, now that the house is de-cluttered and such, things are starting to settle down and I don't know that there will be much to write. However, I will keep you posted even if it is that nothing much is happening.

Thanks for tuning in!

A glimmer of light at the end...

Wow! What a beautiful Memorial Day weekend! The weather was perfect, sunny and in the 70's and 80's. I hope you all were able to get out and enjoy it. As for us, well, we were envying all of you who did.

We were very, very, busy painting our master bedroom and master bathroom (yes, we now have a master bedroom with a master bath); painting our entry way/basement; switching two bedrooms and Keith has 90% of the new vanity installed in our main bathroom. It does feel very satisfying to have these items crossed off our checklist. To have these rooms painted and just about ready for pictures on Thursday does feel like a slight accomplishment.

So, for today we will be focusing on the final touches of switching the bedrooms (curtains, clothes, etc.), cleaning and de-cluttering the finished side of the basement, finish installing the vanity and, if the weather cooperates, get outside to some raking and planting.

Overall, I think we are in good shape for pictures on Thursday. I'll post the link to the listing once I have it.

Happy back to work and school day! ;-)

Putting our home on the market.

We met with the Realtor last night. I'm still a little overwhelmed. It's amazing how cluttered my house actually is but I didn't know it until I started de-cluttering yesterday and then when we took a walk through with the Realtor. She was very nice with her suggestions as to how we can make the inside of our home more "marketable" but it's still overwhelming.

The plan is to have the house ready for pictures by next Thursday, 5/29, and then it will be listed by that weekend. It's a little later then I expected but I didn't realize all that goes into listing a home. So, between now and next Thursday we have more cleaning, de-cluttering, and painting to do. We would appreciate your prayers for strength and peace during this next week!
